The often underestimated Grand Cru site Kieselberg is in no way inferior to the far better known Grand Cru sites in Forst, especially in terms of minerality. This is a typical Deidesheim GG with intense, fleshy fruit, fine spice and a mesmerising, melting finish.

This is the fifth vintage of our Kieselberg as a VDP.Grosses Gewächs. The site has long been classified as a Premier Cru, but we decided to wait until the vine roots in our top parcel were ten years old and rooted deeper allowing this wine to mature into a higher quality.

Soil:
Packed with large proportion of red sandstone pebbles that were washed up by the Rhine over 1,000 years ago and left on the plateau of what is known today as Kieselberg. On this calm ridge, the alternating wind and sun ensure healthy perfectly ripened grapes, even with a late harvest.
